This c.1920s Ogden’s Walnut sliced Tobacco tin is in excellent condition for its age. Generally, old Ogden tins may be found in the dusty corners of barns and basements in the UK, likely filled with old nails and small bits. This tin is a unique treasure among them, featuring a nearly pristine, originally-painted label that has not been very scratched up like many of the others have.
Another thing sets this particular tin apart from the other occasionally-surfacing Ogden tins. For one, a large number of the other tins feature the inscription “Walnut Plug” on the top. This tin is unique in that it simply states “Walnut Sliced.”
Other inscriptions read:
— “Sold subject to loss by evaporation.”
— “Label issued by the Imperial Tobacco Company of Great Britain & Ireland, Limited.”
— “Two ounces net weight.”
